Shopping malls are always busy and crowded, especially during holidays or weekends. Finding a parking space is a challenge for both visitors and employees. In addition, if you forget to use the parking meter, you can get a fine after half an hour of shopping. To solve this problem, Snabb has created a parking solution for shopping malls, which aims to reduce unnecessary fines and make the parking experience more convenient for visitors and employees.

Snabb’s parking solution is based on license plate recognition (LPR) cameras installed at each entrance and exit of the shopping center’s parking lots. The cameras are able to register the license plate of each vehicle and automatically start the free parking time. This eliminates the need to use a parking meter to register free parking time. Visitors who park for less than 3 hours do not need to do anything, and for longer stays, they can use the Snabb app or SMS parking to pay for parking.
The change also affects the shopping center’s employees. The parking lot is divided into two zones – one for visitors and the other for the center’s tenants/employees. If employees’ cars have been previously added to the system and they park in the zone designated for them, parking will begin automatically for them. However, if they park in the visitors’ zone, they will only have 3 hours of free parking. This is done to ensure that visitors have a free parking space at all times and to avoid confusion and inconvenience.
Snabb has set up online management accounts for each tenant, which they can use to manage their employees’ cars. Tenants are able to add or swap the cars associated with their employees, and the general manager of the Lake Centre has a master account that can be used to assign rights to tenants and create accounts. This makes it easier for the Järve Centre management to manage the car park and ensures that everyone has a clear understanding of their parking rights.
The new parking solution has been well received by visitors and staff alike. Visitors to the centre appreciate the convenience of not having to worry about parking bells or fines, while the centre and tenants have been made very easy to manage parking. The introduction of number recognition cameras has reduced the number of erroneous fines and has made parking management simpler, more convenient and more efficient for all parties involved.
